All About Write On! Summer Camp
Write On! Summer Camp is the ideal experience for nurturing and encouraging the young writer.
Each day starts with small group writing instruction where you will discover how to keep a writer’s notebook, write “small”, build up a “hot spot,” and other fun revision tools to breathe life and excitement into your writing.
Choose daily from four different writing clubs. Would you like to write a mystery story? Report the news? Try your hand at comic strip writing? Learn about publishing opportunities? Work at adding meaningful dialogue to your story? Challenge your friends to a game of Scrabble? Or maybe you’d like some one-on-one help with a story you’ve been working on all year. Each day, you’ll have a chance to choose from clubs best suited for you.
What’s more, our week will include visits from professional writers, unique personal publications, and our traditional “author’s toasting” celebration.
Write On! Summer Camp is a one of a kind experience—named Best of the Beehive by Salt Lake Magazine as “The Best Camp for Young Authors.” It’s a week that builds memories, creates friendships and inspires young writers to continue writing long after the summer ends. Write On!
